"So let my door disclose
to readers what I see, able to take them
to my spirit's home, a weathered hallmark showing
how I live, think, grieve, compose."

F.G. Capitanio is an emerging author, poet, and novelist. A recent Cum Laude graduate of Bridgewater State College, he has a bachelor's degree in History and English. His poetry has won honorable mention in the Utmost Christian Writers Foundation 2006 Poetry Competition. He has been published in the 2006 edition of the Gold Crown Award-winning literary journal The Bridge, the April 2007 edition of SP Quill Quarterly, Apollo's Lyre, the SP Quill 2009 Poetry Anthology and the book Divine Intervention, published by Tharseo Publishing. His first book, a Young Adults murder mystery entitled Mariner's Hollow, has finally made it through the editing phase and is being considered for representation. He's also finished a second novel, which is a comedy of errors by the name of Very Bad Things, and is now working on a suspense novel. He lives on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he keeps himself involved in local writer's workshops along with the gratuitous suffering endured at the hands of the obligatory aspiring writer's day job.

August 20, 2008

My first book has gone through quite a few changes in the past months. Ah, the glories of revision. If I ever become a successful writer, I will never forget it and never take another finished manuscript, whether written by me or a fellow artist, for granted. There is more work in a completed book than I could ever have imagined. But thanks to God, I've been able to just about finish. By October I plan to begin sending out to agents and see what Providence has in store. That in addition to looking at graduate programs for writing should keep me busy this fall.

I've just posted the prologue to the book, Mariner's Hollow in the Contents section of my site. It may need a few tweaks, as I still have a couple revisions to go (each one going by faster than the last), but I thought it complete enough to share. Also I've added some new poetry to my poetry section.
